DMC was present at the Educational Event “Getting to know the shipbuilding industry”

The shipping industry is constantly innovating and that is why the market continuously demands specialized and highly educated workers. We strongly believe the youth should be informed more often about profession possibilities in the maritime and shipbuilding sector in order to make our great sector more known and attractive to our younger generation. Damen Marine Components (DMC) continuously tries to interest the younger generation by participating in local educational events. Not only in the area of our main locations in the Netherlands, but also in our foreign branches.

“Getting to know the shipbuilding industry” was a recent event with presentations about the maritime industry, which took place in October 2018 for pupils of schools in Pomerania. Sales representatives of the DMC Gdansk (Poland) factory location Mrs. Bożena Rolińska and Mr. Piotr Ingielewicz gave a presentation of DMC’s attributions and interacted with the pupils about their future professions.

There were multiple other maritime companies present during the event, such as Polish Register of Shipping, Remontowa Electrical Solutions, Forum Okrętowe, Crist Shipyard and Pomerania Economic Zone. Together we can ensure the future craftsmanship of the maritime shipbuilding sector.
